Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information creatingbig.com (“the Site”), operated by Creatingbig Publishing (OPC) Private Limited (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects from visitors, why, and what choices you have. It’s written to match exactly what the Site actually does — nothing here is aspirational or generic boilerplate.

1. What we collect

When you use the contact form: your name, email address, and message.

When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address only.

When you post a note (comment) on a blog post or story: the name you type in (this is self-reported and not verified — we don’t require an account or email to leave a note) and the text of your note.

When you like or dislike a book, post, or story: nothing identifying. We assign your browser a random, anonymous token (stored in a cookie) so we can tell “this browser already liked this” and stop duplicate votes. That token isn’t linked to your name, email, or any other personal information, and we don’t use it to track you across other sites.

Automatically, via Google Analytics: standard web analytics — which pages you visit, how long you stay, roughly where you’re visiting from (country/city level, not a precise location), what device and browser you’re using, and how you arrived at the Site (search, direct, social, etc.). This is aggregated and not tied to your name or email.

We do not collect: passwords (there are no user accounts on this Site), payment or card details (books are sold through Amazon, which has its own privacy policy), or any government ID information.

2. How we use it

• Contact form submissions are used only to read and reply to your message. They’re stored so we can review past messages if needed.
• Newsletter emails are used only to send you new posts, stories, or announcements you’ve opted into. We use a confirmation step (you must click a link in an email before you’re subscribed) so no one can sign up an email address that isn’t theirs.
• Notes/comments are reviewed before they appear publicly. We do this to keep the comment sections free of spam and abuse — your note is stored either way, but only shown on the Site once approved.
• Reaction data (likes/dislikes) is used only to display accurate counts and to prevent the same browser from voting multiple times.
• Analytics data is used to understand which content resonates with readers and to improve the Site over time.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your contact details or newsletter email for advertising or share them with advertisers.

3. Cookies

The Site uses two kinds of cookies:

1. An anonymous visitor-identity cookie we set ourselves, used only to deduplicate likes/dislikes and comment submissions. It contains a random token, no personal data, and lasts about a year.
2. Google Analytics cookies, used for the traffic statistics described above. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking site-wide using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, or block cookies generally in your browser settings.

We don’t use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. Who else sees this data

We use a small number of outside services to run the Site, each of whom processes data only on our behalf and only for the purpose described:

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes — they process it only to help us operate the Site.

5. How long we keep it

• Contact messages and comments are kept indefinitely so we can maintain a record of correspondence and published notes, unless you ask us to delete yours (see below).
• Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe (every email includes an unsubscribe link) or ask us to remove you.
• The anonymous visitor cookie expires automatically after about a year.

6. Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime via the link in any email we send you.
• Ask us to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you (your contact messages, newsletter subscription, or a comment you posted) by reaching out through the Contact page. We’ll respond as promptly as we can.
• Decline cookies in your browser settings — the Site will still work, though likes/comments may not remember your previous activity, and analytics won’t be able to distinguish repeat visits.

If you’re in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with specific statutory privacy rights, those rights apply to you in addition to the choices above — contact us and we’ll do our best to honor the applicable request even if it isn’t explicitly listed here.

7. Children’s privacy

The Site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we’ll delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. We won’t make material changes that reduce your rights without making that change clearly visible here.
